Terms & Conditions
  • BooksLounge reserves the right to accept, or reject membership at its sole discretion.
  • By subscribing to a specific membership plan of BooksLounge, the member is explicitly agreeing to pay the reading fee attached to the plan plus any applicable tax at the frequency specified by the plan. Any non-compliance with the payment terms in spite of 2 reminders will attract penalty of 10% per payment period on the amount due and may lead to cancellation of membership.
  • Subscription fee is non-refundable. A one-time refundable deposit will be collected to cover incidental loss or damage to BooksLounge property. A subscriber will be billed a flat fee, plus any applicable sales/service tax, will be collected at the beginning of your subscription. All fees and charges related to the subscription plans are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.
Changes in Membership Plan:
  • A subscriber may upgrade plans at any time. The difference in the subscription fee will be calculated for the remaining months of your subscription and charged to you accordingly. If you wish to downgrade your plan you may do so only after your plan period expires.
  • On cancellation of your membership, and in the event that there are no deductions towards loss of or damage to property / books, your security deposit will be refunded.
  • Your subscription may be cancelled at any time. These cancellations take effect immediately if you do not have any books in your possession. Otherwise, the cancellation will become effective once all BooksLounge books / magazines/CDs in your possession are returned. In the event that you do not return the books/magazines/CDs within seven (7) calendar days, you will be charged the book's actual retail cost. We don't provide refunds or credits for any partial-month subscription periods or unread books. The deposit refund will be given by way of cheque payable in Chennai.
Damaged Books
  • All of our books are wrapped with lamination sheet. If a book is returned with damaged condition, as a result of subscriber misuse, BooksLounge will charge you the cost of each damaged book.
Return of Books
  • BooksLounge proposes a reasonable reading period (two weeks) with a restriction on the number of books that a member can hold at any point of time based on specific membership plan. However, under specific circumstances where many members wait on a copy for more than 2 weeks, BooksLounge reserves a right to request for the book to be returned and members are expected to return the requested book within 5 calendar days of the request.
  • Members understand and agree to promptly return any book(s) upon request, and that failure to do so within 7 calendar days of the request makes Members liable for the cost of those book(s) plus 50% of that cost as a handling charge, for which BooksLounge reserves the right to charge the Member's refundable security deposit.
Membership Confidential Data
  • You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account information and your password. If you reveal your password or share your account with anyone, you take full responsibility for his/her actions.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Books Lounge and its partners, directors, officers, employees, agents or other representatives from and against all claims, liability and expenses, including all legal fees and costs arising from or relating to your breach of these Terms of Use.
Electronic Communications
  • You consent to receive electronic communications from Bookslounge. You agree that any communication, notice, agreement, or disclosure that we send to you electronically satisfies any legal communication requirements, including that such communications be in writing.
